Jedlickas Saddlery and Make a Wish Foundation grant a young boy his wish
by Tracey OfficeJedlicka’s is proud to support The Make A Wish Foundation and is thrilled to have partnered with the other organizations that helped Damian Gomez wish, to meet rodeo cowboys, come true.
Damian Gomez is a 9 year old boy with Hodgkin’s Disease whose hometown is Santa Maria. Damian spent an exciting day with us at Jedlicka’s on Thursday afternoon for some one on one time with the Professional Bull Riding Tour cowboys, as part of his wish granted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Damian, met up with the cowboys at our Jedlicka’s Saddlery Store located at 2605 De la Vina St. in Santa Barbara, where the cowboys signed autographs and posed for pictures with young Damian.
Damian was all smiles while he shopped for a new cowboy hat, explored our store with his family and chatted with his bull rider heroes.
Damian has loved watching bull riding on television since he was 4 years old and it was his wish to meet cowboys in person. He was able to meet cowboys Ryan Dirteater, Rocky McDonald, Chase Outlaw and Sean Willingham who shared stories of broken bones and their many years of bull riding, which Damian said was his favorite part of the afternoon.
After visiting our store, the Gomez family enjoyed the show at the Earl Warren Showgrounds where they were able to cheer on the cowboys and get a behind-the-scenes tour, given by the 2012 Old Spanish Days Fiesta Stock Horse Show & Rodeo personnel.
A day meeting Damian’s heroes, shopping with us at Jedlicka’s and attending the 2012 Old Spanish Days Rodeo proved to be a young boy’s day to remember and a very special day for the entire Gomez family.
